Uthman Ibn Affan
Uthman Ibn Affan (ra), Islam's third Caliph, ruled for twelve years, the longest reign of any rightly guided Caliph.
People grew more prosperous monetarily throughout his reign, and he continued to engage in activities and projects that improved their overall quality of life. He was a king who valued peace, was liberal, and was compassionate. Uthman Ibn Affan (ra) possessed all of the characteristics of a good Muslim, but his charity and modesty stood out.
He was the richest of the Quraish, but he spent most of his fortune on the welfare of his people and the spread of Islam. He aided orphans and widows in particular. Despite his wealth and position, he was exceedingly humble and lived a simple life. Uthman Ibn Affan (ra) was a pious and principled man who never compromised his beliefs or values regardless of the circumstances. He received the joyful tidings of Paradise three times from the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
